Google will open an Online Store to sell Android Tablets

According to the reports by the Wall Street Journal, Google is set to open an online store to sell Android tablets online directly to the customers. Some of the tablets will be co-branded with Google’s name and the tablets will be manufactured by Samsung Electronics and Asustek computer. It could be a challenging thing for Google to sell tablets online, as users always want to personally look and feel the device before making any purchase. Also, its online store will face a stiff competition from the Amazon and Apple’s stores.

Android is already a big success in Smart-Phones but it is yet to established its dominance in Tablets market because of the huge success of the iPad 3 from Apple. Google is hoping that by selling the tablets from their new online store would increase the adoption of Android Operating system in tablets. Earlier also, Google has opened an online store for selling its own Nexus One Android phone but was shut down after six months as Google failed to provide support to the users queries. Google’s new store will open in the end of this year and a Google-Asus tablet is scheduled for 2012 release.
