Today when i opened Google, i noticed something new, that is a Play button in the Google’s top Navigation bar. The button is placed between the Map and the Youtube buttons.The button is also highlighted with ‘NEW’ label to mark its presence to the users.
Also, earlier this month Google has rebranded its Android Market to Google Play that is a one-stop shop for your favorite music, books, movies, applications and games, that is accessible from Web or any Android Device.
What Google Play is Offering ?
Applications and Games
More than 450,000 applications and games are available on Google Play both as free and paid versions. Play can update the applications automatically if the automatic option is selected in its settings. Paid Applications can be bought using a credit card.
Movies
Google Play offers over 1000 Movies which can be rented and watched on Play application or it can be downloaded for offline viewing. Some movies are also available in HD and the various genre of movies are comedy, drama, animation, action and documentary.
Music
It offers hundred’s of free songs and millions are available for purchase. Users can upload upto 20,000 of their songs to the service for free. Songs are priced at US $0.69, $0.99 and $1.29. Music can be played directly on Google Play website or any Android device and can also be stored for offline playback.
Books
Play contains over 3 million ebooks, of which nearly 3 million are free while others are paid. ebooks can read both online and offline. Google Play books are available in only selected countries, which are US, UK, Canada and Australia.
